President's Letter - 2016

Presidents Report - March 21, 2016 AGM 
2015 was a season of growth. Thank you to the entire Executive and the members of the Swift Current Lacrosse for all your hard work and dedication making the season a success!!! 

Last year we held our 2nd lacrosse tournament which was a huge success. We also held another Andrew McBride Lacrosse Camp. We had participants from the lacrosse clubs in Swift Current, Regina, Moose Jaw, Medicine Hat, Brooks. 

In 2015 we had 140 members, with teams in 6 divisions; Mini-tyke, Tyke, (2) Novice, Peewee, Bantam, Midget. As an organization the results of the Rampage teams were successful; the Peewee team brought home a bronze medal at the SALA Playoffs. Congratulations to all of the players from the 2015 season. 

With the support of Swift Current and surrounding areas, we were able to receive $7300.00 in sponsorship and $2800.00 in grant funding. 

We will continue to build our website and are looking into an on-line registration. 

I would like to thank Rob Johner for his dedication and countless of hours he has put into the success of the Swift Current Lacrosse Association. He has stepped down as President to take on a seat on the Saskatchewan Lacrosse Board as VP of Planning Development. His position will now be Past President on the Swift Current Lacrosse Board. 

Our 2016 Season is quickly approaching and the momentum has continued into this season. Our registration has already reached 122 players. We are hoping to have 2 Novice, 2 Pee Wee and 2 Bantam teams. We will need your help recruiting more players so we are able to accomplish this. 

Currently our breakdown of players per division is: 
Mini-Tykes- 28 
Tykes- 22 
Novice- 22 
Pee Wee-23 
Bantam-25 
Midget- 2 

As we continue to try and sustain the growth we have experienced we will need to maintain a strong group of volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity please contact a member of the executive. We are looking forward to this coming season and are excited to see the next phase of Lacrosse in Swift Current.
